Actress, environmentalist, Victoria's Secret Angel, mom—Angela Lindvall, born January 14, 1979, has garnered a collection of titles during her lifetime. Following a major growth spurt as a teenager, the tomboy decided to give modeling a try after a scout saw her in a Kansas City, Missouri, fashion show. At the age of 14, Angela signed with IMG New York. Not quite ready to take on the fashion world, she waited a few more years before jumping in feetfirst.
Angela landed her first cover in November 1996 for i-D. From there she became a consistent cover girl, posing for the covers of W, Numéro, Harper's Bazaar, Vogue (20 times, six of those for British Vogue), and Elle (nine times). She has also made high-profile appearances in Sports Illustrated's Swimsuit edition and the Victoria's Secret fashion shows.
With countless editorials and campaigns under her belt, Angela works with the crème de la crème of fashion photographers on a regular basis, including Patrick Demarchelier, Mario Testino, Steven Meisel, Peter Lindbergh, Bruce Weber, and Annie Leibovitz. Angela has been the face of top designers Prada, Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Chloé, Missoni, Jil Sander, and Roberto Cavalli.
Angela is a vegetarian and passionate environmentalist who founded the Collage Foundation in 2003 to promote sustainability. The Sustainable Style Foundation named her Best Dressed Environmentalist in both 2004 and 2005.
Angela is mom to sons William Dakota and Sebastian with ex-husband William Edwards, a professional diver she met while vacationing in the Virgin Islands. Angela lives on a tugboat (named the Lakota) that docks in New York Harbor.
This multitasking, multitalented woman has shown her acting capabilities in feature films Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and CQ. On the small screen, she cohosts a green lifestyle show with Adrian Grenier called Alter Eco on the Discovery Planet Green Channel. She also appeared in New York Stories in 2003 and DKNY Road Stories in 2004.
Nominated for the VH1/Vogue Model of the Year award in 1998, Angela let the industry know early on that she was one to watch. The world's eyes have remained on her throughout her 10-plus-year career, and she shows no signs of stopping anytime soon.
