Daniela Peštová was born October 14, 1970 in the Czech Republic town of Teplice during a tumultuous time. In the midst of political unrest in Communist Czechoslovakia, Daniela stuck to school and had plans to major in education until model scout Dominique Caffin persuaded her to enter a contest. Daniela's world was turned upside down when she won the competition and was flown to Paris to sign a contract with Madison Modeling Agency.
In 1990, Paul Marciano recruited the promising young model to star in his Guess? campaign alongside fellow blonde bombshell Claudia Schiffer. The sexy ads put Daniela on the map, and in 1992 she moved to New York to pursue modeling full-time. Though she was fluent in Russian, Italian, French, and Czech, Daniela hardly spoke any English at the time.
But that didn't stop Daniela from landing several magazine covers, including Cosmopolitan, Mademoiselle, Glamour, and GQ. In 1994, she signed a lucrative contract with L’Oréal and was featured on the premier issue of Czech Elle. Two years later Victoria's Secret caught a hold of the beauty, and soon after Sports Illustrated came calling. Daniela graced the enviable cover of SI’s Swimsuit edition three times, including 2006's all-star cover that also featured the likes of Elle Macpherson, Rebecca Romijn, and Carolyn Murphy.
Daniela continues to model, but dedicates most of her children at her homes in the Hamptons and Miami.
