Forget coffee and soybeans—everyone knows that models are Brazil's biggest export. Born on July 17, 1983 in Londrina, Brazil, Flavia de Oliveira has certainly made an impression on the fashion industry. Just months after her 18th birthday she debuted on the runways of New York, Milan, and Paris by walking for esteemed labels like Yigal Azrouël, Giorgio Armani, and Nina Ricci.
Flavia's real breakthrough came in 2006, however, when she opened the Spring Yves Saint Laurent collection in Paris and walked in the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. The tall, tan beauty was featured as one of Style.com's Top Ten Models of Fall 2006 and caught the attention of many in the industry. Flavia scored a slew of major ad campaigns with brands like Blumarine and Salvatore Ferragamo, and even posed for YSL and Victoria's Secret catalogs.
Editorially, the Brazilian hit it big. From Harper's Bazaar to Vanity Fair to just about every glossy in between, Flavia has appeared in spreads with esteemed photographers such as David Sims and Mario Testino.
No doubt captivated by the model's exotic looks and leggy form, Victoria's Secret brought Flavia back to the runway in 2007 and 2008. In January 2009, she walked the Spring Armani Privé, Christian Lacroix, and Valentino couture shows in Paris, and in November graced the cover of Vogue Brasil.
