If Balenciaga designer Nicolas Ghesquière handpicks you to walk in one of his shows, stardom surely awaits—and it certainly did for Hilary Rhoda. Born Hilary St. Claire on April 6, 1987, this beauty, reminiscent of a 1980s Brooke Shields, soon traded in her field hockey uniform for Chanel couture. Only months after graduating from the Academy of the Holy Cross, she was striding down the runway for Valentino and other A-list designers.
The natural athlete from Chevy Chase, Maryland, received a warm welcome from the fashion world as a new all-American face. Hilary has fronted ad campaigns for Gap, St. John, and Donna Karan, but her biggest coup came when she inked a deal with Estèe Lauder, a much-coveted job often reserved for more experienced models. Impressively, Hilary recently joined fashion icons Elizabeth Hurley, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Carolyn Murphy to represent company's new fragrance, Sensuous. In April 2007, Hilary joined many of her friends on the much-talked-about Steven Meisel Vogue cover feting the "world's next top supermodels."
Although most of Hilary's time is spent in front of the camera, the Forbes-ranked model loves reading or playing tennis when she finds a free moment.
