Born on November 29, 1988 in Lake Jackson, Texas, Kalyn grew up with an avid interest in performance arts. At a young age she began singing, acting, and dancing in school plays, talent contests, and local theatre.
At 14, the towering Texan signed with the Page Parkes Agency in Houston. Kalyn was soon modeling in print ads, television commercials, and runway shows. After graduating high school she held an internship with Creede Repertory Theatre in Colorado, and soon after moved to New York City to further her modeling career.
In 2009, Kalyn became a model for Season 6 of Project Runway, winning the first season of its spinoff series Models of the Runway. When she's not working or training with top voice, dance, and acting instructors, Kalyn dedicates her time to volunteering, and is also a passionate supporter of several charities, including the Autism Society of America and the U.S. Autism and Asperger Association. But she also loves biking and writing—she even chronicled her experience on the reality show as a guest blogger for Modelinia!
