It's pretty amazing to have parents who support all of your dreams and desires. In Lonneke Engel's situation, her mom and dad were so willing to help her achieve her dream of modeling that they even started a management company called Bucan Int BV in the Netherlands.
Lonneke was born on June 14, 1981, in Eindhoven, Netherlands. Her first shoot was with the infamous photographer Bruce Weber who booked Lonneke's first international job for Abercrombie & Fitch. She walked her first show for Chanel at 13, walking hand in hand with Kate Moss. Her "Lolita" campaign for Guess?, shot by Ellen von Unwerth, became quite controversial—but had no effect on her career as the then 15-year-old next landed an exclusive contract with Ralph Lauren, a designer she still works with.
And her accomplishments don't stop there. Over the years she's graced the covers of magazines such as L'Officiel, Elle, Velvet, Italian Marie Claire, German Glamour, and walked the runways for designers such as Alexander Wang, Isabel Marant, Miss Sixty, Phi, Rag & Bone, and Behnaz Sarafpour.
These days Lonneke's main focus and ambition is furthering her career as a health counselor and updating her website OrganiceYourLife.com, which gives tips on how to be green and stay healthy with her organic-food choices.
