Project Runway has brought us new designers, but those creating the clothes aren't the only ones to gain fame from the show. Melissa Haro appeared on the first season of the show as one of the models and was lucky enough to land one of the final three spots. Now she's a Sport’s Illustrated girl!
Born in San Jose, California, Melissa began modeling at a young age, winning the 2004 Miss Bay Area Teen, and placed fourth in the 2004 Miss California. But that was only the beginning.
By 2008 she appeared in a pirate inspired photo shoot for the Sport’s Illustrated Swimsuit edition, which was shot in the Cayman Islands, tricorn hats and all. Just a year later, she returned to shoot with the iconic magazine, this time in Riviera Maya, Mexico.
These days she resides in Fremont, California, loves country music, Guitar Hero, would be a veterinarian if she weren’t a model, and is an addict when it comes to the adrenaline rush of riding in fast cars.
