Born in 1992 in the Netherlands' town of Breda, Mirte Maas was working with MTA Models before she moved to New York and signed with Women Model Management in 2009. It's a good thing she made the transatlantic move because ever since she changed agencies, Mirte's career has been on fire.
First spotted in an editorial for the August 2009 issue of Russian Vogue, Mirte made her runway debut opening for none other than Alexander Wang for the Spring 2010 collection at New York Fashion Week. The newcomer walked a season total of 36 shows, taking to the catwalk for big name designers like Chanel, Prada, Chloé, Calvin Klein, Versace, and Louis Vuitton, also opening for Yves Saint Laurent and Donna Karan, and closing for Philosophy di Alberta Ferretti and RM by Roland Mouret.
Aside from her monumental first season, Mirte was featured on the February 2010 issue for Chinese Vogue alongside Shu Pei. She landed the Balenciaga Spring 2010 ad, as well as Alexander Wang's image book for Spring 2010. Style.com even named the Dutch beauty as one of the top 10 newcomers to the industry.
