It seems like Ruby Aldridge was born to be a model.
It seems like Ruby Aldridge was born to be a model. With her mother, Laura, being a Playboy playmate in the seventies, her sister, Lily, a Victoria’s Secret model, her half-sister, Saffron Burrows, an actress and former model and her half-brother, Miles, a fashion photographer, it is no surprise that Ruby ended up in the fashion industry.
She started modeling at the age of 14 in 2005, when she was discovered by Lily’s agency, Next. Less than one year later she was one of the models for the DKNY fall ad campaign and her ad career was officially launched. In 2008 Ruby appeared in both the Nordstrom and Urban Outfitters catalogues, became one of the faces of Coach and was featured on the cover of the French magazine Jalouse. Her breakthrough moment was two years later, in 2010, when she landed a spot in the Fall 2010 Marc Jacobs fashion show during New York Fashion Week and then opened for Marc by Marc Jacobs. After that, she opened the House of Holland and Erdem shows in London, closed Lanvin in Paris and became the face of Marc by Marc Jacobs.
Her modeling career has since been on the rise. In 2011 she was signed as the face of Calvin Klein’s CK One fragrance, as well as one of the faces of Valentino. She walked for such top designers as Valentino, Miu Miu and Peter Som, and appeared in several editorials in magazines like Harper’s Bazaar and Vogue. 2012 has been a good year so far, as well. She was one of the models in the Just Cavalli spring ad campaign, signed with Calvin Klein’s CK One cosmetics and, of course, hit the runway during Fashion Week. Way to go, Ruby!
