Spring has sprung and summer is near, so it’s time to look at the Spring/Summer 2009 runways for warm-weather hairstyle inspirations.

Lakshmi Menon on the Blumarine Spring 2009 runway sported a sporty look for summer: a half-wet, half-dry style that is ideal for poolside lounging.

Three distinct parts are pulled back off model Viktoriya Sasonkina’s face at Byblos’ Spring 2009 runway show. A few deliberately left out tendrils help soften the edgy style.

For a romantic look like this model at the Jasper Conran Spring 2009 show, smooth hair at the crown with a light pomade before twisting into waves and securing into place on each side of the face.

Two great summer hairstyles on one model at Girbaud’s Spring 2009 show: a mini French braid on top and a loose, simple side braid. Wispy tendrils make the look perfect for low-key weekends.

Three gold bands instead of one on model Eniko Mihalik at the Tommy Hilfiger Spring 2009 runway show lends polish and flair to simple straight hair.

At Lacoste, model Lindsay Ellingson finds an ideal accent to hold her beach waves in place: a peachy pair of sunnies.

Another side braid was featured on gorgeous model Shu Pei Qin on the Leonard Spring 2009 runway. This time, the braid is a more intricate fishbone style and paired with a side part.

For long hair, nothing is sexier—or simpler—than side-swept hair pulled into a lustrous ponytail, like on Shelby Coleman at Nicole Miller’s Spring 2009 show. The result: a flirty bangs look without having to chop off locks.

On Badgley Mischka’s Spring 2009 runway, Sheila Marquez wore an elegant version of summertime slicked-back hair and the go-to classic ponytail.

At Sonia Rykiel’s Spring show, scarves were screened with images of the iconic designer to create an au courant hippie headdress. While you may not match your hair to your headband, the look is definitely a "do" for any bohemian ensemble.

The headband is still a hit in fashion circles! For designer Rebecca Taylor’s Spring collection, modern-day flower girls like Shu Pei Qin modeled simple strips of ribbon to keep tousled waves secured.

The straw fedora that designer Emanuel Ungaro perched upon the heads of all his models at his Spring 2009 show is a summer must-have—for bad hair days and good ones.
