Beauty Trend Report: Green Nail Polish

The trends to notice during Fashion Week don't stop with the clothes. Last season we saw a sprightly color pop up on many of the runways in the form of nail polish. See which shades were our favorites.

Chanel is notorious for being the forecaster, not just of fashion, but nail trends, too. With every new Chanel collection comes a new nail polish. Peter Philips, the global creative director of Chanel, presented the notoriously particular Karl Lagerfeld with 10 different shades of green until he found one he liked. For fall, the color of the moment is jade—a tint that is lighter than emerald but darker than mint. Jade nail polish, $25 at chanel.com

Models showed off a darker shade on the runway at Vena Cava. Nonie Creme from butter LONDON mixed up a hunter green especially for the show and called it British Racing Green—which is also the international motor racing color of Great Britain. Paul Smith's brand of Emerald City nail color was inspired by the great outdoors. The shade shimmered slightly, so it managed to be both brooding and bright all at once. Orly Enchanted Forest nail polish, $4.59 at amazon.com

Models have been sporting the look off the runway as well. IMG model Leigh Lezark chose a mint shade to provide a pop of color to her all-black Rule Breaker ensemble at a Fashion Week event. Essie Mint Candy Apple nail color, $8 at essie.com
