The Classic Red Lip Ralph Lauren, 1995 Kevyn Aucoin created this look for the Ralph Lauren show as an ode to the '40s and '50s and pinup girls like Marilyn Monroe. When a red lip is paired with a light or pale eye, the look can be very classic, sexy, and finished looking.

The Classic Red Lip Louis Vuitton, Spring 2009 The classic red lip look can be very retro and timeless, but it can also be very modern. 1. Brush lid with a shimmering nude pink eyeshadow. 2. Highlight the brow bone with a pale golden shadow. 3. Curl lashes and follow up with a few coats of mascara to upper lashes, then wipe off the wand and lightly tint lower lashes. 4. Take a white pencil and line the bottom lid. Apply a peachy pink blush to even skin tone. 5. Line lip with a red liner and fill in. Apply a coat of true red lip color, blot, and reapply.

The Smoky Eye Issac Mizrahi, 1996 The smoky eye is reminiscent of the '80s, which could have been a pumped-up version of the 1920s flapper look. It really is quite a bold and dramatic look, even when paired with a pale lip.

The Smoky Eye Roberto Cavalli, Spring 2009 The smoky eye can be sophisticated as well, depending on the color choice in eye shadow. 1. Rim the entire eye with a soft liner. Tip: Gently pull lower lid down and line inside lash line with a soft pencil liner. 2. Blink to get the liner and color to upper eyelid. 3. Apply color to entire eye area and blend any edges away, winging them outward and upward. 4. Curl lashes and apply a generous coat of mascara to top and bottom. 5. Keep lips natural-looking by lining with a neutral pencil and filling in. 6. Brush on a pale pink or peach blush for a hint of color to keep the focus on the dramatic eyes. This look can also be done very softly to give a more subtle, refined sexiness.

The Natural Glow Ralph Lauren, 1996 The natural, healthy look is always in season. Kevyn kept the emphasis on the dewiness of the skin and the rosy glow of the cheeks and lip for this collection.

The Natural Glow Anna Sui, Spring 2009 The trick with this look is to make it appear effortless, like you’ve just awoken looking like this. 1. Apply a sheer dewy-looking foundation to even out skin tone. Try Vapour's Atmosphere Foundation. Follow up with a natural-glowing blush. 2. Apply same tone you used for blush to lips. 3. Follow up with a healthy coat of gloss. 4. Add Benefit's pale rose shadow across lid for definition. 5. Curl lashes and then add a few coats of mascara to upper lids. Wipe off wand and lightly brush lower lid. Use the same wand to brush eyebrows into place.

The Colorwash Eye Todd Oldham, 1997 This is a version of both the smoky eye look and colorwash that was reminiscent of the '70s when full-on glamour was a part of the disco and glam-rock scene out of London. Metallics and bright colors were big for eye shadow.

The Colorwash Eye Chloé, Fall 2009 This is really about creating a focus on the eye area with the use of color. You can use any color, so why not choose something that makes your eyes pop? 1. Start at base of lid and apply eye shadow upward to brow bone, extending past the outer corner of the eye and wing upward. Apply color inward to bridge of nose. 2. Try going light at first to get the shape and then layer to get the depth you want. Lighter-colored shadows will be softer looking and darker shadows will be more dramatic. Apply same color liner to lower lid for more definition. 3. Curl lashes and apply a few coats of mascara on upper lids, then gently brush lower lids as well. 4. Keep lips and cheeks natural-looking to really emphasize the eyes. Use a soft pink blush and lipstick to balance the face. The Smoky Colorwash Eye Richard Tyler, 1996 This look is very reminiscent of disco-era glamour, but it was also popular in the '20s and '30s.

The Smoky Colorwash Eye Gucci, Spring 2009 The look here is done with black and blues, but can be done in a myriad of color combinations. The most important thing to remember is to have fun. 1. Create flawless looking, dewy skin with Vapour's Atmosphere Luminous Foundation to keep emphasis on the eyes. 2. Choose a color to line entire eye, lining upper lid and blending along bottom lash line with a brush. 3. Choose an accenting eye shadow color to contrast with liner. Apply accent shadow on lid in upward motion toward brow bone. Wing it out and up for a more dramatic effect. Remember to blend, blend, blend. 4. Apply a generous amount of mascara to upper and lower lashes. 5. Sweep on a pale pink blush and pale pink lip gloss for a uniform look so focus remains on the eyes.
