Erica Domesek shows us how to make rock star-style leather necklaces inspired by Helmut Lang's Spring collection.

Modelinia's favorite DIY designer Erica Domesek helped Helmut Lang inaugurate and celebrate his Spring collection by creating necklaces, bracelets, and scarves out of the house's soft leathers, denim, and knits at a celebration event at Bloomingdales.

Both Erica and Helmut Lang were honored with window displays at the iconic New York City Bloomingdale's location.

One of the leather pieces Erica demonstrated was made simply by cutting, knotting, and styling a swatch of leather.

Erica shows off her second look: a rock star-style fringe leather necklace.

Shoppers gathered around Erica's craft table to pick out their materials.

Erica describes her P.S. I Made This concept as "a call to action to reimagine, reuse, and reinvent."

You can make your own leather fringe necklace in a few easy steps. First, cut about 8 to 10 strips from a square piece of leather.

Using a hole puncher, make two holes at the top of your leather straps.

Make sure to punch the holes about a centimeter from each other in the middle of the leather strips.

Starting from the bottom of your leather strips, make several cuts up toward the holes to create tassels.

Thread a string or lace through one hole and out the other.

Continue this process to thread the leather strips onto your string.

Cut off any excess from the ends of the strips to even them all out.
