Wow Brows

With the fuller, natural look making a comeback, Modelinia got eyebrow specialist Landy Dean to weigh in on some of our favorite girls' looks. Plus, we provide some backup to show that—as far as eyebrows are concerned—bigger has always been better.

Landy Dean describes Doutzen Kroes' brows as classic, "but sort of blocked off. Very reminiscent of Audrey Hepburn, which is nice. It's a classic brow that's modern and here to stay." He also adds that the thickness is the right size for her face and that the "beginning of the peak is really great, and so are her soft edges."

Landy likes that Hilary Rhoda's thick eyebrows are groomed underneath, but a bit more natural-looking on top. "Not everyone can handle that. There is an old wives' tale about not touching the top of a brow..."

"Fernanda Motta's signify what is happening now in beauty. Hers are very full with not much space between the brows and lashes, and that is part of her look," explains brow guru Landy Dean.

A good brow grooming will last about five weeks. "You can't go in every week like you would for a bang trim, so sometimes you make them a bit shorter so they last longer." Julie Henderson plays up her natural brows by "not going against the natural placement of the peak."

Bar Refaeli's brows work because "they aren't groomed all the way around, just a bit under the arch. So they still look natural yet neat."

Landy describes Lakshmi Menon's brows as "untouched." He adds, "If you have darker hair and features and pluck heavily, it will really show. Natural edges need to gradually fade back into the brow like hers do."
