My biggest tip is too much is usually a bad thing. A lot of people think about “a little is good, a lot is more.” That’s not true.
I would say, “Make sure your foundation matches your skin.” And it’s hard to do that in a department store. Check it outside. So if you could sample it and then go outside with a mirror, because a lot of times you were sold something in the store and you get it in real life and it’s too orange or too yellow or too grey.
Look at magazines, because a lot of times we get comfortable with our make-up looking a certain way. But then 10 years later, the styles have changed. You don’t want to get dated.
You know, for me, I would say that the things I can’t live without would be concealer, mascara, lip gloss; pretty much everything else you can fake.
