CHANEL IMAN
Hey, everyone, I'm Chanel Iman. We are chilling at Justin, the designer from Subversive's, apartment today. You're watching Modelinia.
JUSTIN GIUNTA
As a testament to a muse and designer working together and having a good time, sitting on a couch, we've developed our own rap for our little afternoon adventure today so.
CHANEL IMAN
My name is Chanel. I'm a Southern belle. I was born in Atlanta, Georgia. I moved to L.A., decided to stay, and now, I’m here today.
JUSTIN GIUNTA
And I can't sing, but that ain't no thing, because I'm the one who makes the bling.
CHANEL IMAN
And this is the king.
When you walk its just, jewelry, like everywhere, is really cool.
JUSTIN GIUNTA
While you make it look new as well every time, with every outfit, every style, you know, it's just one part of the element. You pull it together, walk it out the door in a way that is incomparable to the little velvet mix I have in the studio.
It’s a classic industry story as how a lot of people get hooked up in this industry, there's a lot of them passing and feeling the vibe and I've seen your picture before I got to meet you in person.
I'm sure you've encountered the jewelry before you met me. And having that response and rapport already, then meeting each other, and now, we are both young, energetic, and we have a great sense of humor. So, I think that I translate that in my jewelry, and I think that you personify that in how carry yourself.

When you go out to these events and you go out to nice places, it's special to wear jewelry and especially good jewelry. It makes you feel that much better, and it adds to your dress, your outfit, and Subversive is very, very me.
JUSTIN GIUNTA
I’ve seen you wear some of my necklaces in ways that I didn’t construct them, which is really cool. There's no wrong way to wear a piece of Subversive. And I think from the onset, it's always been about making it your own and having the individual bring what they can to the jewelry, and you do that beautifully.
CHANEL IMAN
Thank you.
JUSTIN GIUNTA
I remember when we were getting started, I said, “Can you turn your head like three quarters this way?”
And you said, “Well, this is my better side.”
CHANEL IMAN
Oh, yeah.
JUSTIN GIUNTA
And I said, “This is paint. I can put your toe on your head.” We made her a Boticelliesque, Gauginesque super diva. It's just the classic beauty of Chanel.
Being a creative person, I've always hit the ground running just making things with my hands and defining myself as an artist. So, I came to New York and try to make a bunch of different things that--I could sell in shops. Then I fell upon some metal charms in a bin and made a bracelet for a friend which launched the Subversive Jewelry World.
And to have a beautiful model that comes and supports you, it shows that you are a really supportive fan and friend.
CHANEL IMAN
It's something new and exciting and fun, and I'm all about that.
