I'm Chrissie Miller. This is my friend Lissy Trulie.
LISSY TRULIE
Like, I was, like, 17 or something when I got scouted to do modeling. And, uh, and I didn't believe them.
CHRISSIE MILLER
As a designer, the best feeling for me is to have someone like Lissy wear our clothes 'cause she's a performer.
LISSY TRULIE
I was always playing music. I got my first guitar when I was 12 or 11 or something. And I, and I played the xylophone before that.
CHRISSIE MILLER
I think she'd be considered my muse because we really dive in with each other creatively. I really give her feedback of her music and what I like. And I've even helped her write lyrics.
LISSY TRULIE
She asked me to model for her. And we kind of geeked out over fashion. And she realized that, like, I could help her out with what she's doing.
CHRISSIE MILLER
I started designing clothes by just making graphic T-shirts. When I'm looking for inspiration, I look at a lot of images from the past, a lot of films.
LISSY TRULIE
She kind of has this age to perfection feel through her clothing, like, where did somebody get that T-shirt. Like, it's the one, it's the one thing you want to wear.
CHRISSIE MILLER
Lissy and I are gonna look for some stuff that she could wear on tour. This is an Alaia belt. This would be great for stage.
LISSY TRULIE
You know, it's awesome.
CHRISSIE MILLER
Like your in some weird, like, Madonna video or something.
LISSY TRULIE
Yeah. Isn't it a little weird?
CHRISSIE MILLER
You can't really lose here. Well, I thought it'd be cool to wear it this way, backwards, so the ring was in the front.
LISSY TRULIE
Something is missing. Yeah, it's my boobs. (LAUGH) It's hardcore.
CHRISSIE MILLER
Yeah. It's intense.
LISSY TRULIE
Yeah.
CHRISSIE MILLER
Yeah, but with something pretty or, I don't know, lace.
LISSY TRULIE
What I like about Chrissie is you don't project your own style. I'd like to dress up a little, I like to have, uh, like, fancy thing, but I also like to, um, still be, you know, grungy.
CHRISSIE MILLER
I don't think this is anything you'd wear.
LISSY TRULIE
No. But I like it.
CHRISSIE MILLER
Yeah.
LISSY TRULIE
She understands it, you, you're gonna get a little dirty in what you wear and you're gonna, like, you want to be comfortable, but you still need to, you still want to look sexy. And this is exactly why I like to wear Chrissie's stuff (LAUGH) is 'cause it's like basics, but they're, they're perfect for being able to, like, have something that you adore and transform it every day.
CHRISSIE MILLER
I think that it's important for me to use people, the people around me and, and my friends. And Lissy has great style. You know, she just gets it.
LISSY TRULIE
I think Chrissie is, is my muse as much as I'm her muse, for sure. Um, and she's also like my best friend, so it helps. (SINGING) Am I different or am I the same.
CHRISSIE MILLER
So good, right?
