Get the Look: Brow Wow

Just like the lips, precision brows dominated the runway of Fall 2009 Collections. Some of the designers played up the full shape and color of the model's brows, while others intensified the color to make the shape stand out even more.

Hi. I'm Johnny Lavoy, celebrity makeup artist for Maybelline New York. Today I'm going to show how to recreate the hottest and latest makeup trends right off the Fall 2009 runway, using products from Maybelline New York. This season is all about playing up the shape and intensifying the color of your natural brow. So ladies, no over-tweezing. So I've already prepped Susan's face with Dream Liquid Mousse Foundation and Expert Wear Blush. So I can get right to the brow. I'm going to be using Define A Brow eyebrow pencil that has this little brow comb on the end. And it's also micro mechanical. So I'm going to go in and start creating little hair like strokes, and although it's a bold look you want to be careful not to go too heavy. But don't worry if you make that mistake, you can always go in and blend out any heavy or harsh lines with the brow comb. Now I'm going to use Define A Brow gel. It's going to set this look and tame down any unruly hairs. It's really easy to apply, just go with upward and outward strokes. Now to open up the eye and create dramatic volume, I'm going to use one coat of Colossal Volume Express Mascara. And you just want to start at the base of the lash line and work your way out. So I'm going to finish the look off with the shinylicious Lipgloss in a delicious tawny tone called Carmella. So this is a bold confident look that's really going to make a statement for Fall.
