Hi, I'm Marissa Miller, Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue 2008 cover girl, and you're watching Modelinia.
MALE
Heidi!
INTERVIEWER
That guy just called you Heidi, does that make you mad?
MARISA MILLER
No, I just don't want to speak for her, are you kidding? It's a compliment.
(LAUGH)
HEIDI KLUM
You know, for grown ups to have a little bit more and what you can do with it.
MARISA MILLER
What?
I'm just a normal girl, I have imperfections like everybody else. And I listen to a lot of rock and roll, you know, I'm a rock and roll girl, always a little Guns N' Roses.
I didn't even know modeling was a job. I grew up in Santa Cruz which is a little hippy town, the industry was non-existent there. It's a nice place to go home to. It's a good balance between my crazy work life and then coming home to somewhere really simple. Especially since I’ve traveled so much, so anything I can do at home feels good.
I'm usually in charge of the pies at Thanksgiving and Christmas, which I love. I like to bake anything domestic.
I really admire Cindy Crawford. She's been able to balance an enormous career and have a family.
I definitely don’t take it for granted, my job is amazing. To actually be a Victoria Secret angel, it's really surreal. Today, we did our big arrival, we had all these little matching outfits on and we did a photo op at the beach.
When you're a surfer, your life revolves around the ocean and it's great because now, when I’m at the beach, even like in Miami or wherever, I feel some sense of comfort because it's home. You know, the beach is my home. All the girls, we have so much fun together and the show is kind of like the Super Bowl of the year, I think, for me. It’s like larger than life; it's amazing to be a part of it.
It's like one point for Santa Cruz, you now, that I’m in the show.
It's pretty nerve wracking because you're on high heels, corsets and feathers and things, so there's a lot going on. But when you get out there, it's really important to just feel the music, have fun, just trying to put a smile on people's faces.
Ah, Marisa, that's her first time. She did well.
My breakfast order is going to be ridiculous.
You make me look weird, I know you are.
(LAUGH)
It's pretty cool, it's fun. My favorite word is Modelinia. Now get out of here.
Hey, Modelinia, I'm Marisa Miller and I’ll see you later.
