YASMIN LE BON:
Hi, I'm Yasmin Le Bon. (LAUGH) I was born in Oxford, in the city of Oxford in England.
Couldn't think of anything else better to do? Wrong answer. I have A music family and I love fashion and spent all my money on fashion magazines. It was actually my friends who started to get twitchy on my behalf. You know, you haven't got a job lined up, you haven't got further education. They sort of freaked me out enough to actually think oh, Christ, I've got to go and do something. So I took myself off to London, walked into Models One and the rest is history. And then a week later I was working and that was it. I actually think my first job ever, and I'll think of, of a way of rephrasing this because I did manage to say this on live TV. My first job was a hand job. I know. And I quickly backtracked and went no, but it was a uni part calendar for, for tools. I mean, I was literally holding spanners. You know, I didn't really have a big break. For better or worse, I was doing all sorts of the good, the bad, and the ugly. My first jobs were not Italian Vogue or big campaigns. By the time I got those things, I really, really appreciated them.
Uh, this sort of came out of I think some drunken evening actually. [Sir] Philip [Green] and I both had one too many and we sat down and I thought that if they wanted to do something different and new, then I was interested. And it's been really challenging, it's been a huge learning curve for me. So I'm actually hoping we can actually do a few more things and I'm hoping the jewelry is going to carry on because that was a lot of fun. I just want to do something that's good, quality, that's classic, timeless. You'll feel good in, I've just designed the clothes I want for next season with the accessories. (LAUGH)
