Hi, I'm Terri Apanasewicz. And today on Remodeled, I’m going to recreate a beauty look I did on supermodel Gisele Bundchen. Gisele and I were on the set of her Volkswagen commercial shot for Brazil. And we did a very '40s reminiscent feel. And I’m going to show you how to do it at home in a very quick and easy way.
So today, we're going to start with smooth, straight hair. Add some curls back in with the medium size curling iron. Pin to cool. Release the curls, brush through, and finish off with spray.
I’m going to start by creating a diagonal part in the hair. This is going to help add to the wave effect once you put your curls in. Spray your section with a little hair spray. Then you get your curling iron down to the ends. You actually get your ends tucked into the end of the iron.
You want to roll it down, hold it, and then try to release the iron without disturbing your curl too much. You want to have some pins close by so that you can pin each section. We’re going to leave it like that so when it cools, it’ll have memory. The next curl, you’re going to take an opposite diagonal.
Depending on how thick your hair is, you don’t have to do really fine sections, but you don’t want them too thick either because you want the heat of the iron to penetrate each of them. Again, spray each section with hair spray. If you have layered hair, it might take you a little time to get the ends in there as you’re rolling it down.
If you can’t keep your curl intact, don’t worry. Take it off, wrap it around your fingers and then pin it in place. So--and then you're going to again with another alternate diagonal and you’re going to continue this around the whole front of the face.
The back of the hair--I'm not going to worry about taking my curl all the way up to the root. I'm just going to concentrate it more towards the ends.
Okay. So now, at this point, you've finished your curls. They're all pinned in place. This is a good time to do your make-up while they finish cooling before you take it down. We’re going to go and start with the front of Chelsea’s hair because it’s already cool.
This is what it looks like before you brushed it out and you’re going to brush through.
This hairstyle is not about curls. It's about brushing it into just a nice shape with a little bit of a wave. So now, we’ve got it brushed out. It’s falling into a nice shape. I am going to take a little bit of pomade--this kind of works--the waves and curls so that you get a nice shape in the front.
Finish off with little hairspray and then you’re ready to go--really easy ‘40s look.
Start with smooth straight hair. Use alternating diagonal sections with your curling iron. Pin into place. After curls are cooled, release them. Brush into shape, spray, and go. So there you go. There’s our Gisele Bundchen, remodeled ‘40s look.
