TODD THOMAS:
Hi. I'm Todd Thomas and, um, I'm here with Charlotte Stockdale and we're here in the Victoria Secret collection space.
CHARLOTTE STOCKDALE:
Yeah. (LAUGH) We have been working together on Victoria's Secret shows for about six years.
TODD THOMAS:
We have a really great crew and enormous group since then and it's a finally oiled machine at this point.
CHARLOTTE STOCKDALE:
Every year it gets bigger and better just because our team grows. We've lessened the number of sections this year. So it used to be six, maybe seven different sections and now it's five which has allowed us to do longer sections and therefore explore a story in each section further. So the theme is magical journey which we open with "Star Trooper." This is a kind of a Galactic idea. So maybe she kind of comes from outer space and she lands in Paris, for instance. And then she gets on the orient express and our second section is "All Aboard" and so she's on the train and she's going towards the orient. Inspired by Marilyn Monroe walking down the train platform in "Some Like it Hot." So it's all kind of 50s shape wear
TODD THOMAS:
Pin up.
CHARLOTTE STOCKDALE:
Pin up. Then we have a Pink Planet interlude and that's just fun basically.
TODD THOMAS:
Yeah. The colorful whimsical, youthful part of the show which is generally a kind of a palette cleanser for the sort of,
CHARLOTTE STOCKDALE:
I like it. An amuse bouche
TODD THOMAS:
It is, right? The "Enchanted Forest" section is really great segment in here and I think it can be a big crowd pleaser.
CHARLOTTE STOCKDALE:
Once though her enchanted forest, she arrives in her palace and she is the fairy princess and this is the "Romantic Journey" section where she's come to her, her abode and she's just dressed in an enormous amount of sparkly stuff.
TODD THOMAS:
Partly luxurious, royal stuff.
CHARLOTTE STOCKDALE:
Yeah, she's royal. She's very royal. Yeah.
TODD THOMAS:
So it leaves on a good note to end on when in doubt.
CHARLOTTE STOCKDALE:
And if you're not thoroughly confused at that point, then you'll just have to watch it again.
TODD THOMAS:
Yeah, tune in.
CHARLOTTE STOCKDALE:
Tape it and rewatch it. And we also have, uh Ben Wilkinson-Raemer he's made the two pieces you might see when you walked in.
TODD THOMAS:
It's sort of
CHARLOTTE STOCKDALE:
Unbelievable.
TODD THOMAS:
Origami kind of Polly Magoo piece.
CHARLOTTE STOCKDALE:
In the past, we've had some seriously harry moments. So we have got to the point where we understand that in a pre organization is a really wonderful thing. However, no matter how together we are here, there will be those moments.
TODD THOMAS:
The manic martian stuff is still to be fit and they need to arrive
CHARLOTTE STOCKDALE:
And they are super challenging.
TODD THOMAS:
And they're not coming until tonight and, you know, I mean they're,
CHARLOTTE STOCKDALE:
This outfit Is possibly, including wings, the heaviest thing we've ever had in the show.
FEMALE SPEAKER:
What is it made of?
CHARLOTTE STOCKDALE:
Swarovski crystal elements. So we, uh, are making wire circles solid to try to kind of keep it away from her feet and boning it and lining it.
TODD THOMAS:
We're really lucky to have the group of artist and production people, um, it's really,
CHARLOTTE STOCKDALE:
yeah. The whole team's amazing.
TODD THOMAS:
A dream come true.
Hi, I'm Todd.
CHARLOTTE STOCKDALE:
(LAUGH) hi, I'm Charlotte.
TODD THOMAS:
And, um, come back and look at the show.
CHARLOTTE STOCKDALE:
We hope you'll enjoy it.
